Would you like to resolve issues or understand more about dog aggression? Are you having problems with puppy training or your new rescue dog?

Maybe you have a dog that is fearful in some situations and you don’t understand why, or you have dogs that need to be kept apart.

Dogs are individuals, irrespective of breed or type.  All are born with a specific functional character that explains how they learn, their behaviour and social interactions, and more.

Understanding your dog’s functional character can give you answers and help you to achieve greater success, greater confidence and more clarity with challenging issues like puppy training, integrating rescue dogs into a group, and dealing with aggressive or anxious dogs.

Dr Isla Fishburn, who wrote the Foreword for the book, says, “This book is filled with such useful and helpful information, stretching you literally beyond the breed that your dog is”.

The book was written during the first lockdown in 2020, with the help of Michael Heppell and his “Write That Book” Masterclass.

I am also indebted to Dr Isla for her help during the editing process, and for her time, love, and energy in writing the Foreword.

Thanks also to all the big and beautiful groups of dogs at my dog daycare centre, CentreBarks in Richmond, North Yorkshire for allowing me to observe their interactions to further my knowledge of the canine world.

And thank you to the excellent staff at Flying Squad Books for the smooth journey through the publishing process, helping to make me a published author.

I hope you enjoy reading beyond the breed, and that it helps your journey in the dog world. Thank you.
